What our servers receive

Hexomail protects you from senders who track you. It does not encrypt your email: your provider keeps storing it, just as it does today.

All your addresses

Add your address: Hexomail finds the settings on its own, asking our servers only for the domain name.

  • No account to create

The Hexomail account is optional: it is used for HexoTransfert, for syncing between your devices and for the web version.

  • Search on your device

Across all your accounts, instant, even offline: the index never leaves your device.

  • Encrypted sync

Accounts, signatures and settings follow you across devices, encrypted before they are sent: our server only keeps unreadable data.

In any browser

Open mail.hexonest.fr/app, scan the code with your phone: your inbox appears.

How it works

  • Served by your device

Your phone or computer is what fetches and sends your email. The browser has neither your passwords nor your sign-ins.

  • End-to-end encrypted

Our server relays the traffic without being able to read it. You check that the same code appears on both screens, then you authorise the session on your device.

  • Nothing stays on the computer

No cookies, no copy of your email. The session ends when you close the tab or after fifteen minutes of inactivity.

HexoTransfert

Send a file that only your recipient can open.

  • Encrypted for its recipient

The file goes out as an attachment, encrypted for your recipient's key: they need Hexomail. It is never uploaded to our servers. How it is encrypted

  • Signed by the sender

The recipient checks that the file really comes from your address and that it was not altered on the way.

Frequently asked questions

All questions

  • Can Hexonest read my email?

No: it does not go through our servers, so we never receive it.

  • How much does it cost?

Hexomail is free and ad-free. Some optional online services will be paid: the image proxy, revealing where opaque links lead, and HexoTransfert key lookups beyond the free credits.

  • Where are your servers?

In France, at OVH in Gravelines. Hexomail is published by Hexonest, a French company based in Paris.

  • Is Hexomail open source?

No. The HexoTransfert format, however, will be published as open source.
